The study "How are habits formed: Modelling habit formation in the real world" by Lally et al., published in 2010, reported that on average it takes 66 days to develop a strong habit. However, the time frame varied widely, ranging from 18 to 254 days. This indicates significant variation in how long it takes people to form a new habit. - ref
