Difference to opposite-of
To me opposite-of represents more of a direct opposite. Much more similar in weight and proportion.
While opposite-to, is not necessarily direct opposite. Meaning it can be much different weight and proportion. But still lives on the opposite side.
Direct opposite takes much more thoughts and scrutiny to figure out. While just being on the opposite side of allows to move much faster.
