My current preferred way to try this out is put it on a schedule where certain time syncs are not allowed (for me the vice was youtube).
Disable left swipe from home
Left swipe from home screen on Android gives news that distract.
Disable that "feature".
Move your social apps far from home screen
Move your social apps far from home screen. Group them and name it something like "time wasters"
Better yet, just App Block them on a schedule.
Turn off Discover on Google App
