<p>The way to interpret Jocko's meaning in this quote is that discipline leads to freedom.</p>
<p>Interestingly strong <a href="/notes/oxutbwv86j2g7yisx6jyye1">Discipline</a> can lead to both types of freedom:</p>

<p>However, just relying on discipline does not sound like the most winning strategy. Discipline is very akin to self motivation. Pushing yourself to do something. Rather than being pulled to do something. </p>
