Do: Examine Yourself
Dont Judge Instead examine yourself:
When we see persons of worth, we should think of equaling/emulating them;
When we see persons of a contrary character, we should turn inwards and examine ourselves. — Confucius
“When you see someone not so good, reflect on your own weak points.” — Confucius
Look at the weaknesses of others with compassion, not accusation. It’s not what they’re not doing or should be doing that’s the issue. The issue is your own chosen response to the situation and what you should be doing. If you start to think the problem is “out there,” stop yourself. That thought is the problem. - Stephen-Covey - Be Proactive: We are responsible for our own lives.
Turn inward and see if you can find a similarity that you were going to judge someone on within yourself. And spend the energy addressing it.
“Whenever you are about to find fault with someone, ask yourself the following question: What fault of mine most nearly resembles the one I am about to criticize?” — Marcus-Aurelius
“Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people.” ― Carl-Jung
“When you are offended at any man’s fault turn to yourself and study your own failings.” — Epictetus
“Wise men learn more from fools than fools from the wise.” — Cato the Elder
